Regarding the situation, I suggest you install Office 2016 by the Office 2016 Deployment Tool. The feature is released on the Excel 2016 with the current channel. Based on my test, Map Chart has not been available for this version of Deferred Channel. īelow you can check out the video describing the 3D-Maps command available in Excel 2016. Once again, I must mention that if you want to find out more details about 3D-Maps in Excel 2016, have a look at the previous post of mine Power Map in Excel 13. Once the Add Selected Data To 3D Maps is selected, the Visualization of the selected Data appears in the 3D-Map window as we can see below. Excel Charts - Surface Chart, Surface charts are useful when you want to find the optimum combinations between two sets of data. From the drop down menu we must select the command Add Selected Data To 3D Maps. In the image below, I have activated the Worksheet that contains the Data, and then from the Insert tab and from the area of the ribbon named Tours, I selected the 3D-Maps command as shown below. In order to get the data that we want, we must activate the Worksheet that contains the Data. That is why at the right area of the 3D-Map window we are notified that 3D Maps Needs Data To Work With. Because, no Data was selected we have no visualization of the Map. Straight away, the 3D-Map ribbon is available with all the commands, which were described in my previous post Power Map in Excel 13. For this post I have selected an existing Tour which is name Power Stations. In this dialog box we can either select an existing Tour or at the bottom right corner we can select the New Tour command. Once the 3Map command is selected, the Launch 3D Maps dialog box or at the bottom appears as shown below. We can See Our Geographic Data On A 3D Map, Visualized Over Time. Once we have all the data needed, we then select the Insert tab and from the right area of the ribbon named Tours we select the 3D Map command as shown in the image below.

In the image below you can see the Worksheet containing all the necessary data in order to use the Insert 3D Map command in Excel 2016. It lets us discover insights that we might have not seen in traditional two dimensional charts. The 3D-Maps feature is a three dimensional data visualization tool that lets us look at information in new ways. The new name of this feature is 3D Maps, and is available on the Insert tab and under the area named Tours.
